Design a novel dining set that is suitable for a mobile experience. Use sketching principles and modelling techniques to support the concept.
Mirai was easily manufactured on very few machines due to its simple and consistent form. The two main body components were blocks of bass wood turned on a lathe. The lids were thin pieces of wood cut on the band saw and the edges were smoothen by sandpaper. The spork was made out of styrene and was steam bent into shape. I inserted a rivet for both parts of the compact spork to staying together.
The purple elastic band was dyed with purple fabric dye and then sewed together. The lids and spork was spray painted in black. The base containers was stained with mahogany.
